Meet The Founders
Dr. Søren Boysen
DVM, DACVECC
Widely known as the “godfather” of veterinary POCUS, Dr. Boysen pioneered the first abdominal FAST exam in small animal medicine. With over 20 years of experience, he has transformed how diagnostic imaging is used in emergency and critical care. His groundbreaking contributions include developing the PLUS approach (pleural space and lung ultrasound) and advancing practical teaching tools such as custom phantoms.
Key Achievements:
- Winner of the Jack Mara Scientific Achievement award for advancements in POCUS.
- Recipient of the WASAVA Presenter of the year and multiple CVMA Teacher of the Year Awards.
- Lecturer in 30+ countries and contributor to 30+ research papers and book chapters.
Dr. Serge Chalhoub
DVM, DACVIM
An expert in internal medicine and nephrology, Dr. Chalhoub is a visionary leader in making veterinary POCUS accessible and practical. He co-developed the PLUS approach alongside Dr. Boysen and has inspired countless students and professionals through his engaging teaching style.
